WALKS AND TRAILS AROUND THE PARISH
The DRAMWAY PATH is a 15km/ 9 mile linear walk that follows sections of the route of a nineteenth century tramway which carried coal from Coalpit Heath in the Bristol coalfield down to the River Avon.
The FROME VALLEY WALKWAY is a 29km/ 18 mile long path which follows the River Frome from the River Avon in the centre of Bristol, to the Cotswold Hills in South Gloucestershire. The route passes along the western edge of the parish.
COALPIT HEATH & FRAMPTON COTTERELL HERITAGE WALKS – This illustrated booklet produced by South Gloucestershire Council describes seven walks in and around Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath. Two of the walks have been designed for school children but we are sure parents, carers and grandparents will enjoy them too! There is also a route especially for wheelchair or buggy users and others which focus on our mining heritage.

Dick King-Smith farmed at Woodlands Farm, Coalpit Heath from early 1948 to 1961. It was a mixed farm, with arable, a dairy herd, pigs, goats and various sorts of poultry. It is certain that during this time he gained inspiration for his many animal stories, written many years later.’
